If you were to look at our commercial photography portfolio you might thing that Ardent was in fact a Cheyenne commercial photographer. While Rick and I do happen to photograph a lot of businesses in Cheyenne our studio is actually based in Laramie.

Laramie is such a special town. We love the small town feel and the community of support we live in. We really embrace the small business here as a whole. It’s so fun to see new startups as well as see our friends succeed in pursuing their dreams! Meet Trent, friend, wing maker extraordinaire and owner of Double Dubs aka Weitzel’s Wings.

As a Cheyenne commercial photographer we would come across a food truck here and there but nothing as specialized, awesome and delicious as Double Dubs. What makes them different you ask? Well first off their wings are antibiotic free, vegetarian fed and Certified Redbird. They are lean and BIG and their sauces are to die for. Trent is so thoughtful and creative with all of his menu items including his signature tater tots and beer battered fries. These fries are SO good we recently had one of our brides have Double Dubs cater their wedding reception after tasting them! If that still isn’t enough to Peak your interest how about being able to enjoy your meal on the second story of his DOUBLE DECKER BUS?!

Trent is nothing short of exceptional and he has brought all of his hard work, culinary expertise and passion to his business. As a Cheyenne commercial photographer we can honestly say food trucks in our state’s capital have got nothing on Double Dubs!

Have to taste it to believe it for yourselves? We don’t blame you! In the meantime here are a few of our favorite drool worthy images from their recent commercial shoot!

Who knew one of the perks of being a Wyoming commercial photographer was getting to enjoy an award winning post photo shoot meal… all while on the clock! Get ready to have your taste buds tantalized and be prepared for your mouth to absolutely water as we tell you all about this delicious assignment.

Recently we were contacted by The Cavalryman Steakhouse. USA Today was looking for the ‘Best Bison Burger‘ in all of Wyoming and this gem of a Laramie Steakhouse had created the most epic burger, landing them a place in the finals. This amazing meal was DYING to be photographed properly and we loved the challenge this shoot presented. Pictured in the commercial shots below is a Buffalo Mozzarella Bison Burger. It’s made with local grass-fed Prairie Monarch ground bison stuffed with fire roasted green chili mozzarella toasted on a house bun and topped with shredded lettuce fire-roasted tomato mayonnaise. The burger is served with parmesan rosemary steak fries that ALMOST steal the show.

Most often when we photograph for our Wyoming commercial clients, there are people involved. Photographing a burger was something we had never done before. We really wanted to not only showcase this amazing creation but also convey visually what the Cavalryman brand is all about. When you want into their restaurant immediately you are greeted with rustic wooden plank floors. Their bar has a vintage nostalgic feel that is so classic and we just knew we needed to include it’s red pennant lights. What is a steakhouse meal without an ice cold beer, am I right? So we knew that would be something we wanted to include when staging as well. We really wanted to embrace the lounge feeling with a dramatic moody background, choosing to light our food feature subject separately off camera left. In addition to the entire plate (and those amazing amazing amazing fries) we also wanted to showcase a few different angles that would let the viewer see their top notch meat, that gooey fire roasted green chili mozzarella inside and get the feeling of sitting at a table setting with this yummy meal in front of them!

This was so much fun to shoot! We wanted to be sure to share a few of our favorite commercial images but we also would love to let you know how to VOTE for this fantastic establishment in the USA Today contest. You can do this by following this link. You can vote once per day until the rankings are finalized. There are some amazing contestants competing for this title but the creativity, love and GENIUS that went into this burger makes it a clear winner. As a Wyoming commercial photographer we WOULD LOVE to see Laramie make it all the way!

Enough talking, who wants to see the burger already?

As total foodies we LOVE that this has local grass-fed Prairie Monarch ground bison. Although the fire roasted green chili mozzarella totally steals the show…

Love that this photo not only showcases this amazing culinary creation but also the amazing atmosphere that you can expect from The Cavalryman Steakhouse

Did we mention this delicious burger is topped with fire-roasted tomato mayonnaise? Yes please!

I love a great burger and this was the best of the best BUT the parmesan rosemary steak fries, oh my! STILL craving these!

Cold draft beer or a glass of the fantastic wines they had to offer? Tough choice but for this shoot we went with a classic!

Can’t you just imagine this in front of you, ready to be devoured? As a Wyoming commercial photographer this was a dream shoot!

It is absolutely amazing how much trust we receive from our amazing clients as a Laramie commercial photographer. Maybe it is because we ask so many questions jk. We do however try to really drill down to the heart of what our clients are looking for us to capture for them. Sometimes there are guidelines, creative directors, image specifications. Sometimes there are dream shoots where your hired for your vision and the level of trust placed on you to deliver is dizzying. THIS was one of THOSE shoots for us.

The University of Wyoming Physical Education Dept contacted us about a special event they were having. Their teaching students would be hosting an interdisciplinary lesson for first graders from Snowy Range Academy. The pre-service teachers would be teaching anatomy to these children THROUGH physical kinesthetic movement. So often there is an assumption that PE is just for fun, with only a focus on improved health. What was special about THIS event was the fact that movement was going to be the means for some pretty amazing teaching to occur. The department wanted to capture the lessons, the movement and the fun! We were allowed free reign to go wherever we would like, photograph however we would like and really capture this for them to be able to share with others. We crawled on the floor, shot over shoulders, raced kiddos to the props, the works! This was by far one of our most fun and interesting shoots as a Laramie commercial photographer to date! These kiddos were awesome but the teachers? WOW the way they took advanced anatomy and broke it down simply was really impressive and we are so glad to have gotten to document this for them! Seeing them in their element, getting down on their students level, showing so much patience and mastery of the concepts was really inspiring!

Probably our FAVORITE part of taking Laramie commercial photos is our initial meeting. During this time we sit down with our commercial clients and really get to know them. We find out what makes them special, who their ideal target client is. We want to know not only what kinds of photos they would like us to take, but what those photos should SAY about their business. Sometimes people need some help with how to answer these questions, they may be new to their industry or maybe they have never even thought about these questions. In the case of the owners of the new Altitude Fitness of Laramie they knew every answer like the back of their hand. It was challenging and fun to be able to capture their stunning facility in the way they wanted, showcasing what they had to offer visually through photos.

Altitude Fitness is an upscale, full service gym located in Laramie, WY. As the most advanced private training facility in the region they feature industry leading equipment, premier training programs, upmarket supplements like dianabol & daily classes. As we toured the facility prior to our shoot we were amazed. These folks know their stuff and left nothing out. You know all those crazy Pinterest workouts that require equipment you’ve never heard of? Bosu this, sled that and kettle something… well anything and everything you could want you will find it here. When providing these fine folks with Laramie commercial photos it was SO important to us that without even stepping foot into their amazing gym the viewer would be in awe of how complete, state of the art and unique their facility was. This amazing gym also offers the best products to keep yourself and your body healthy, like the vitamin c serum amazon. We hope these photos did it justice though it really is a place you HAVE to see in person. What makes it even more appealing is the fantastic staff they keep and wonderful owners. We have had the pleasure of working with The Milam family for their own personal photos year after year. We are excited to see their new endeavor doing so well and wish them the best of luck in the future!

Many people may not know that Rick and I actually do quite a bit of Laramie commercial photography as well as commercial photography throughout the state. You are probably used to seeing stunning brides, teary eyed grooms and gorgeous wedding table decor. What is interesting is that many of the things that we absolutely love about photographing weddings translates so perfectly to this genre of photography!

Most times our assignments come with some inspiration from the creative director in charge of the companies advertising. In this case Markle Financial, an established and well known financial planning company here in Laramie, was looking to revamp their website. They had just built a BEAUTIFUL new building and wanted to make sure to include some amazing photos of their location and staff. More than just PHOTOS however they wanted to convey a sense of who they were to the general public and demonstrate the personal, passionate way they serve their clientele. Words we were given to be inspired during their shoot were: local, high end, personal, reliable, friendly… We were told Markle Financial was “Beyond what you expect from a professional suit & tie financial planner, we will want to hear about your family, your personal passions, your heart-felt needs. And we may take you on a snowmobile ride.(In other words, we want to move away from the typical formal financial planner to include some joy and fun.)

The group over at Markle Financial made it easy on us! Rick and I are all about capturing things as they really are. It can be tough to ‘create’ something that isn’t authentic or genuine. We feel like you can smell ‘staged’ in photoshoots from a mile away. The fun, personal, friendly, high end service you see in these photos is 100% real and courtesy of the wonderful individuals that make up their staff! We’ve been waiting a bit to share these so that we could also share their new website, but we are BEYOND excited to be able to show off this fantastic local asset!

Most of what you will see when it comes to images from our studio is wedding related. Passionate embraces, thoughtful details and emotion emotion emotion. We spend our time documenting ceremonies, photographing fun receptions and getting creative with WEDDING details such as rings, bouquets etc… Although our passion definitely lies in wedding photography, commercial photography is always something we love to endeavor in.

There is something so thrilling about the challenge of taking a client’s creative direction, their target client, the emotion they want to convey and doing THAT for them through images.

Our collaborative meeting with Mike from BPI Labs was a match made in heaven. They wanted something vintage inspired. Something with depth, intricate details, thought provoking imagery that would help to show off exactly what they are capable of. Not familiar with BPI? They are a Contract Manufacturing company based out of Evanston, WY. They specialize in creating, packaging and branding personal care products from all over the world. In short they make dreams come true for successful (but tired) business owners who until now have done everything themselves. Do they help photographers with an overly active to do list? Just kidding 😉

This shoot was like being on a paid field trip. We loved getting to explore and help to show what they are capable of. They are so passionate and their facility is so unique. Everyone we met there was so helpful and their creative team is AMAZING at what they do. Stay tuned for a gorgeous new website featuring these photos as well as a brand new ad campaign. Cannot wait to see what they come up with!
