CENTENNIAL WY PHOTOGRAPHER | Darian & Aunders

When Darian and Aunders dreamed up a mountain engagement session, as a Centennial WY photographer I was SO thrilled! Centennial is SO gorgeous especially in the summer. Thick forests of evergreens, tall overgrown grasses and crisp wonderful mountain air. Add in a couple that is head over heels in love with one another and your job as a Centennial WY photographer is easy peasy!

The first ten minutes of every session is usually a bit uncomfortable and awkward. We as photographers are trying to assess how much posing and instruction our clients need and they are for the first time in front of not just one but TWO invasive cameras. This totally wasn’t the case with Darian and Aunders however, these two were magic from the very start. The more we left them alone the more they forgot we were there which is the secret to photographing REAL moments.

Often times we will start off by placing our subjects into a light pose then ask them to NOT look at the camera but instead to look at each other. We encourage them to interact, talk, exchange glances and get in close. One of my favorite things from this wonderful session is the big dreamy smile and wide open laugh that Darian would get when her prince charming got in really close. Don’t be fooled though, the closer Darian cuddled in the bigger and BIGGER Aunders’ smile got to match.

These two were awesome as we climbed up mountain hills, walked them among the wild grasses and tried to really capture them as they were… in love.

Interesting thing about Darian is that her mother is actually a professional photographer. Sometimes it can be hard photographing the kids of us photogs. Seems like there is always a bigger emphasis on pictures being taken and it doesn’t take long for the infamous ‘camera smile’ to be developed. Darian did a fantastic job however just being in the moment and in love in front of our lens.

This session is the stuff dreams are made of for a Centennial WY photographer. Laughter, gorgeous scenery, and did you see her AH-MAZE-ING ring? So so SO in love with that vintage style and that non traditional stone. The little embellishment on the sides are just the perfect touch! What girl wouldn’t swoon and say I DO in a heart beat after being presented with that amazing engagement ring!

Darian had such a unique and intricate engagement ring. It was so fun to photography! Love that pale blue stone as well, so pretty!
These two were just SO natural in front of the camera. They made out job TOO easy and it was hard to take a bad picture of them!

I think the secret to posing Darian and Aunders was to provide them with absolutely no posing lol. These two were pros!
