As a Cheyenne wedding photographer we are very familiar with the Hynd’s Lodge amphitheater in the Happy Jack area. Nestled in the middle of gorgeous wide open Wyoming country is a rustic stage with built in rock seating, windy paths and outdoor charm. When Kaitlyn and Kyle told us this was the spot for their wedding we were super excited to see what they would do with it!
After having photographed their wedding we can honestly say it was PERFECT! They carried a lovely blue and sunflower theme throughout that just brought the space to life! Their family and friends FILLED the place and we loved getting to capture the day for them. These two had a style all their own. From Kyle’s bolo tie to their spice rub wedding favors their day was super unique. They really took the time to think of special personal details to incorporate many of which we had never seen! Oh and did we mention that they had Famous Dave’s cater their event? It was delicious and really fit their down home country theme.
Kaitlyn and Kyle, thank you for being you. Thank you for being fun loving, easy going and letting us follow you around for the entire day lol! We had a blast with you and cannot wait to see whats is next for you and your amazing family!
What is a Cheyenne wedding photographer blogpost without some PHOTOS?! Here are a few of our favorites from Kaitlyn and Kyle’s wedding day:
As a Cheyenne wedding photographer we see a myriad of wedding dresses. Kaitlyn’s dress however was stunning, I just adored how full and stylish it was! Check out that bling she rocked right along with it too.
Kaitlyn got ready inside of the visitors center at Curt Gowdy State Park. This space was perfect for her and her girls to spread out, get glam and prepare for the big day.
Yep, you are correct… Kyle totally sported a bolo tie for their wedding. This had special meaning to him and we think he totally pulled it off!
We mentioned there was all kinds of room where Kaitlyn got ready. Kyle not so much lol. Hynd’s Lodge boasts an open space for receptions and the tiniest getting ready space ever, on the second floor. It used to be a boy scout lodge and their bunkhouse of sorts was on the second level.
The unique space did make for some interesting light that totally made us swoon when shooting in black and white!
As a Cheyenne wedding photographer we get to meet our bride and grooms family and friends on their big day. What absolutely stuck out to us however about Kaitlyn & Kyle’s crew was just the crazy amount of love, fun and support they brought with them. Everyone was smiling the entire day and everyone pulled through to help in any way making this the best day ever!
These two had there ceremony at the Hynd’s Lodge Amphitheater. The space itself is rustic and often doesn’t need much decor. LOVED how colorful and unique their touches were however. These two carried a blue and sunflower theme throughout – swooon!
Not to mention the GIANT staircase leading down to the amphitheater itself! Talk about a way to make an entrance, this is always our favorite part.
Love how timeless this is in black and white. Kyle looks so happy as his true love walks the aisle to become his wife.
Again with this gorgeous dress, I mean come on it’s super stunning right?!
This isn’t just a smile and its not just happiness… This is JOY over finding the perfect woman to spend the rest of your life with!
Small detail shots like this are always fun to keep our eyes open for…
Remember Kyle’s joyful smile? Kaitlyn wore the same smile for the entire ceremony! These two were so made for each other!
Something about writing your own vows just adds to the day. Reading your own words is so personal and intimate. Love that these two went this route.
As a Cheyenne wedding photographer seeing our clients tear up gets me every time! Good thing our cameras are big enough to cover up our own happy tears while shooting!
Something about Wyoming summer is just my favorite thing ever. Lush golden rod grasses are just perfect for portraits. Couple that with some amazing back lighting and MAGIC!
The light was seriously so dreamy! Loved how this paired with evergreens was just the perfect background for these two.
Isn’t this just so magical. Don’t you wonder where they are right now? We could have photographed in this spot for the entire day.
Rocking that bolo tie don’t you think? Definite groom style award, we’ve NEVER had a groom wear a bolo tie before.
Something about classic layered black and whites just makes my heart go pitter patter. As a Cheyenne wedding photographer I can tell you these two are seriously #couplegoals.
Can we just talk about Kaitlyn’s bouquet for a moment? So wild, lovely and unique. We really don’t see that many weddings with sunflowers nowadays.
Ok so some of you may not like this shot. Why is the couple out of focus, why are we looking at grass… guess this appeals a bit more to our artsy side lol.
Here you go we followed it up with a wide open Wyoming landscape portrait. Gotta love that gorgeous bit of country!
These two were so wonderful. We would pick a lovely spot, face some amazing light and then leave them alone. They made our job SUPER easy.
Isn’t this decor so perfect? Loved the dirt and worm potted sunflowers that the bride’s sister created for her special day!
Who has meat rub as a wedding favor? Our amazing couple, that is who. Again this was a first but we absolutely LOVED it and were happy to bring some home as well!
Kaitlyn’s ring was so unique. It actually looks a little bit like a sunflower don’t you think?
Bouquet shot by Rick, his bouquet photos are always so stunning!
As we mentioned before Kaitlyn and Kyle’s friends and family are awesome so of course their toasts were too!
First dance magic in front of their crowd. Love how easy it is for our couples to forget where they are and just get lost in the moment.
Kaitlyn and her Dad enjoying their Father/Daughter dance!
Oh and did we mention that those amazing dirt and worm pots had an equally amazing sunflower cake also made by the bride’s sister?
