elena + matt | engagement {winter wonderland session}

A few years back we were photographing the wedding of some of our favorite clients, Katie and Brian. Katie had this sister. She was fun, full of life and just the kind of girl you would want by your side on your big day. We always saw her laughing, joking, smiling and just generally bringing happiness to everyone she interacted with. This gorgeous sister is Elena and we had the pleasure of heading out with her and her fiance for a winter engagement session. One of Rick’s first memories of Elena was when she assured him of two things. 1. She would eventually be marrying George Strait and 2. When she did she would be giving us a call. Imagine our surprise when Elena DID give us a call and let us know she was engaged to a wonderful man named Matt.

Let me tell you Matt is definitely NOT second to George Strait. You can just see the love and care he has for Elena, in the way he looks at her. Seeing these two just get lost in their own little world lets us know that GEORGE is the one who is without lol. Keeping with the ‘Hughes family tradition’ of shooting every photos session EVER in the snow, we headed up to The Snowies with these two. You can’t tell from their photos but it was COLD. Like freezing, snow up to your knees, close your eyes so you aren’t blinded by the wind cold. But these two made it look easy… Check out a few of our favorites from our day:
