Rick and I were excited to travel back to Holyoke, Colorado again for Gentry and Jeremy’s Phillips County Event Center wedding. This spot holds a lot of memories for these two, as they spent many nights together at the fairgrounds as their new romance was blossoming. Gentry even shared with us that she has sang the national anthem here too many times to count. So, having their Phillips County Event Center wedding here was not only a great choice because of the beautiful venue but also one that has so much sentimental value as well. Discover 4 different ways to explore Southern USA. The South falls from the granite, forested fists of Kentucky and Tennessee into craggy hill country and thick woods. This rugged landscape slowly changes as the waters of its rivers – including North America’s greatest, the Mississippi – saturate the land into boggy, black-water blankets and sun-seared marsh, all thinning into the salty membrane of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico.
Gentry and Jeremy had their ceremony at the First United Methodist Church in Holyoke. For some in Gentry’s family, this is their home church and several generations in her family have been married here as well. They brought in a pastor who is also a family friend to conduct a very beautiful ceremony for the two of them. Rick and I were especially touched by how Gentry and Jeremy made his mom (who had recently passed away) such an important part of the day. It truly was a very loving and heartfelt wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony we grabbed the newlyweds and headed for the gorgeous sunlight. We found a natural area to take advantage of the perfect sunlight and then headed to the Phillips County Event center to finish their creative bridal portraits. Rick and I took Gentry and Jeremy around the area behind the event center, and found ourselves exploring the old fairgrounds buildings as well as the bleachers at the rodeo arena. It was great to get to steal these two away so that they could really enjoy some private time in areas that meant so much to them. And as you’ll see with the images below, Rick and I fell in love with the areas under the bleachers!
We finished the Phillips County Event Center wedding with a fun, country themed reception that included hilarious toasts, beautiful special dances and a pretty epic cake fight! It was the perfect conclusion to a fantastic day!
Gentry and Jeremy, we appreciate you allowing us the opportunity to document such an important day! We can’t wait to see what is in store for you both in the future! Best of luck with everything! 🙂
Gentry is a beautiful country girl, so of course she would have amazing boots on her wedding day.
Her wedding dress from David’s Bridal was absolutely gorgeous!
The lace, detail and *sparkle* that Gentry had was seriously stunning.
Gentry and Jeremy had their ceremony at First United Methodist Church where many generations of her family have also been married.
This image has so much meaning; this was the spot reserved for Jeremy’s mother who had passed away.

We can’t tell you how much we loved that Jeremy’s beautiful mom was such an important part of their day.
Look at the smile on Gentry’s face as she locks eyes with Jeremy waiting for her at the altar!
Everyone who got to witness the ceremony could definitely tell just how much these two loved each other.

We found some perfect golden hour light for the beautiful bride Gentry…
And were fortunate to time the light at the perfect time in the bleachers under the arena as well!
It was very easy to photograph these two because of how natural they were around each other.
Gentry and Jeremy used to spend time together around these buildings when they were dating; how neat to be back as husband and wife!
We loved the lines under the bleachers; will definitely be coming back here for our next Phillips County Event Center wedding!
Gentry looks very cinematic (almost like a movie star) in this black and white image; stunning, girly!
The genuine joy and laughter that comes from getting to marry the man of your dreams!
Gentry, you look SO pretty here. Those eyes are amazing. 🙂

What would a Colorado country themed wedding be without burlap and some amazing hand made signs? 😉
The up lighting provided by Jason with Night Sounds really added to the mood of the reception.
A beautiful bridal bouquet that ALSO has shotgun shells? Yes, please. Great job, Rhonda!
We took advantage of the amazing up lighting to photograph the even more amazing wedding rings!
Gentry and Jeremy’s wedding cake not only looked great but tasted Ah-mazing.
My husband Rick’s favorite moment of every wedding, the father/daughter dance.
Gentry and her father seemed like they really enjoyed getting to share in this moment together.
Next up was the first dance as husband and wife for these two love birds.
These are the types of looks between the bride and groom that as a wedding photographer you feel lucky to capture.
The decor was so elegant and the reception space made this Phillips County Event Center wedding so beautiful!
