PHOTOGRAPHER IN LARAMIE | The Lockard Family

To some people Ardent Photography is just another photographer in Laramie. Then there are people who are fans of our work and like and comment from time to time. Then there is Robbie… Robbie is a sweetheart and I would be hard pressed to find a wedding gallery where she did not comment, congratulate our clients and let us know how much she loves what we do. We have known Robbie for years, we would run into her at weddings, through mutual friends and see her when we visited people in the hospital where she works. With a birthday AND an anniversary coming up her sweet family, knowing how much she enjoyed our work, decided to splurge and book a portrait session!

A little bit family, a little bit anniversary and a must have ring shot because like me those are her fave. Robbie and Chet were amazing. We have many sessions where we photograph Mom and Dad to capture them without their kiddos but more as just two people in love. Most times its a bit clumsy, a little awkward and they suffer through it so that we can capture a gorgeous portrait for their families. BUT if you can just somehow be in the moment, forget what anyone thinks and just be yourselves in front of the camera… THAT is when the magic happens. Robbie and Chet are still head over heels in love with each other. Through the years their love has no doubt deepened and it was so special to get to photograph them as more than just parents. These two let us walk them up and down mountain paths, up hill sides and into the aspens. We loved getting to photograph them for their anniversary. We even did a ring shot! Those of you who follow our work know that an Ardent Ring Shot is a big deal! I love taking ring shots and we are always striving to be super creative and bring something unique for each couple. In this case Robbie brought the unique in that a family member had hand made their rings! Loved photographing them among the forest setting.

With all this gorgeous sappy romantic portraiture you MIGHT have forgotten that this was a little bit anniversary and a little bit family too! These two have been blessed with FOUR girls. Four beautiful, confident, fun and loving daughters. We had a lot of fun not only posing the entire family for some family shots but also just the girls together for a few sister photos. One of the things that makes us a bit different than just another photographer in Laramie is the amount of emphasis we place on individual portraits. Robbie and Chet have children that either are adults or are close to being adults. Having a beautiful portrait of each of their girls individually is such a gift. What a special thing to be able to look back on in the years to come when they have their own families. What a gift to those future families, to be able to pull out these photos of their mom and ooh and aah about how young she was. That being said these ladies made individual photos easy for us, they were so radiant and their smiles just lit up for the camera.

Robbie, thank you for being you. Thank you for every sweet thing that you’ve said and all the times you’ve told people about this photographer in Laramie you follow. It was a real treat to be able to not only work with you but to be able to capture something so important. Working with your family was a pleasure and I hope that one day Rick and I are just as head over heels in love as you and Chet (with photos to prove it lol)

As a photographer in Laramie we are so blessed. Beautiful mountain view like this one are within a 5 minute drive. God blessed us with some amazing light for this session!

Ring shots are my absolute fave… Anyone who follows our work knows this and Robbie loves them too. It was so amazing to get to photograph a ringshot for these two. Aren’t their rings amazing?

OK one I am totally in love with her dress and two check out that sassy pose! Don’t tell Rick I said this but girls are SO much easier to photograph then boys lol!
Chet laughed about this photo, he said it was like Robbie found an old man in the forest and helped him walk out like a good Samaritan. Hilarious right, can’t you see it if you really think about that back story!

This photo may not speak to everyone… Its a bit on the under exposed side but I love it. That is the wonderful thing about photography, the creative choices that make each photo unique!
