katie + brian | maternity {snowy mountain lodge}

Every morning when I walk down the stairs, there it is. A BIG GIANT canvas of one of our maternity photos. This is one of my favorite pieces in our home. Every time I see it I remember what it was like BEFORE we met Chloe. Before we knew she had little dimples, a cute little giggle and an ornery personality. Before we knew that she would have my dark hair and her daddy’s sense of humor. Before she entered the world and met her family. In that photo it was just her and I, in it for the long haul.

Maternity photography has a special place in my heart. It can be an odd thing. Ask any momma and they will tell you that at 8 1/2 months pregnant you really don’t FEEL like you look your best. You feel probably more along the lines of how you look, tired, emotional and ready to pop! So heading out for a photo shoot can sometimes be the last thing on a new mom’s mind. But oh when you get the photos back, and especially after your new bundle of joy has entered the world… you realize it. These photos, these moments are priceless.

This is Katie. She is beautiful, confident, positive and comfortable in her own skin. Her husband Brian is funny, patient, thoughtful and spontaneous. Their little one Owen will no doubt be all these things and more. We always love getting to photograph these two. Whether it was their engagement photos or their wedding day, their love just shines through in every image. Viewing their set is like getting a sneak peek into the perfect little life. We spent the afternoon with them up in Centennial, WY. We were blessed with gently falling snow and let them cuddle by the fire inside Snowy Mountain Lodge.
